Tierp

Waking up Findin' you On my couch again - hey You and me Grew up way to fast Guess nothing is meant to last - friend

But whatcha' gonna do about it? I was waiting for a miracle to guide me through Maybe we can talk about it? Over the phone Whatcha' gonna do about it

(We were kids) Every summer - late up climbing silos - yeah man, that's a sunrise (Sun went down) Remember Aspen - way before they wrecked it - swimmin' where we shouldn't then Ran from the police - friends Lesson learned Smile with your heart and not with the purdy fake - face

But whatcha' gonna do about it? I was waiting for a miracle to guide me through Maybe we can talk about it? Over the phone Whatcha' gonna do about it

Feel Think

Along came the night and I was at war with myself Yes, I'd be the first one to admit I'm a bundle of nerves - strung out and uneasy Lived on an island once and really enjoyed it but now I'm back home, I'm still on call and the weather's shit

Between you and me I used to feel more than think Now I just think 'bout how I feel and someone once said that youth is for wasting - I did gone waste it Keep this a secret - don't tell anyone but I do believe I misunderstood

See, I was a mountain Now I'm a rock Waiting for something To lift me up

See, I was a mountain Now I'm a rock Waiting for something To lift me up So come lift me up Cuz' I'd be first to admit I am a rock - and I'd be the first

Along came the night and I was at war with myself Yes, I'd be the first one to admit

I was a mountain Now I'm a rock Waiting for something To lift me up So come lift me up Cuz' I'd be first to admit I am a rock - and I'd be the first

Turtle

Someone said the world is balanced On some poor old turtle's shell Is there truth to this my friend? Is there truth to this my friend?

Cuz' I want this to take me places Places I have never been Make it worth the wait of staying here Make it worth the time I've left behind

Is there more to this existence? Are there that many ways to go? Cuz' I don't even know where I am now No I don't even know where I am now See I'm not scared of getting answers I'm not scared of finding out I don't often cry But tonight I do

Is there more to this my friend? Cuz' I am gonna give it all this time

And I'd give my eyes Just to find out If this is it Then it's alright

I don't think you'll ever find me I don't think I'm comin' home Cuz' I don't even know where I am from No, I don't even know where I am from So I'll be runnin' up all mountains Asking stars 'bout where to go I don't often cry But tonight I do

Is there more to this my friend? Cuz' I am gonna give it all this time

And I'd give my eyes Just to find out If this is it Then it's alright

Take my eyes

Someone said the world is balanced On some poor old turtle's shell Is there more to this my friend Cuz' I am gonna give it all this time

And I'd give my eyes Just to find out If this is it Then it's alright

Someone said the world is balanced On some poor old turtle's shell Is there truth to this my friend Is there truth to this? Cuz' I want this to take me places Places I have never been Make it worth the wait of staying here Make it worth the time I've left behind

The Whistler

He be the whistler - ain’t got no problems no He needs you ‘bout as much as a stone weighing him down But you’re a purdy one - and he’ll stare at you for hours 'til the morning sun tells him no

Dutch courage on his side - give it time and we’ll have something going down tonight - mmmh And how her legs can sway - could they sway like that for hours? 'Til the mornin' sun ends this night

So go waste - some time - letting something - something different pilot your mind

Aight.. So that’s a Glasgow kiss? Knocked right back into first person Still my head’s a kite - and my eyes they’re a disco and how the floor it sways - it’ll sway like this for hours 'til the mornin' sun crowns me _king_

So go waste - some time - letting something - something different pilot your mind

Watch me grow tall Watch me grow strong Watch me grow young

Go waste - some time - letting something - something different pilot your mind

About

My heart is a metronome started out as lead singer and guitarist Mattis Malinen’s solo project. After years of playing in various bands who later turned out to lack ambition, he set off to spend a cold February weekend at a cottage in the north of Sweden, recording the debut EP ’Sketches’ by himself.

After following up the EP with a ’hobo tour’, train hopping through Europe with a guitar on his back, playing anywhere from smokey bars in Budapest to beach parties in Nice, he felt that the project needed a rhythm section. Enter Gustaf Simonsson and Felix Carlsten.

The trio clicked right away and went on to win the title as ”Sweden’s best unsigned band” on national radio, playing live on Swedens biggest TV broadcasted charity event as well as touring the UK. Following up with an EP and four singles, the band gained praise throughout Europe and the US, from blogs to radiostations, for their unique and hooky alternative rock.

On February 10, 2017 the band released their new EP ’Tierp’, named after Mattis’s hometown - also once named the ’ugliest town in Sweden’.

Recorded during hot summer nights in their rehearsal space, but mixed by three-time Grammy award winner Pelle Gunnerfeldt (The Hives, Refused, The Knife, Status Quo) and mastered by Robin Schmidt (Mumford & Sons, Ben Howard, Black Keys, The 1975), the EP gives you the best of two worlds - Distinct, well played true-sounding instruments (vocal chords included) delivering intricate, yet catchy melodies sent out in this world for you to hum along to.

The title track and first single off of the EP ’Tierp’ soon gained the attention of the famous UK magazine Alternative Press and can also be heard on the BAFTA Award winning reality show ”Made in Chelsea”.
